Add your sugar and yeast to the milk and let set for 5 minutes or so. Next add 2 cups of flour and the water. Mix well. Put in the other 4 cups of flour and knead well, then cover and let sit and allow to rise overnight. Make into french loaves the next day. Moisten the tops with butter or milk. Let rise for about 10 minutes and then bake for about 40-60 minutes at 300°.
